We value our strong relationships with industry and commercial partners, and we continue to seek new partnerships. We turn to our industrial colleagues for guidance in "real-world" issues such as technology markets, manufacturability, end-user requirements, and practical knowhow. This interaction keeps our research focussed on problems that matter, with solutions that can make a difference. Our students receive valuable training and insight through direct interaction with industry, and many of them find careers within the companies we work with. Our industry colleagues also provide a good "reality check" and keep us from getting lost in our "Ivory Tower".
