Philosophy and policy of the Li/Bachman laboratory

Our goal is to train the next generation of leaders in science and engineering. To do this, we strive to provide the following in our educatonal program:

• A strong, thorough education for our students and researchers, with broad training, challenges, and interdisciplinary experiences.
• A positive, engaging research environment where students are encouraged to think creatively, take risks, and think "outside the box." No-one should be afraid to make a mistake.
• A success-oriented style that demands the best of our students. We do not expect our students to accept failure, to give up easily, or to make excuses.
• A team spirit, with ample opportunity to participate as part of a research team, both as a team member, and a team leader.
